Olatubosun Celebrates Senator Sumonu at 64

The Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun has celebrated a former member of the Senate, Monsurat Sumonu on her 64th birthday.

Olatubosun who congratulated Sumonu on Sunday commended Sumonu’s efforts and contributions towards success of the present administration in Oyo State.

Monsurat Olajumoke Sumonu is a Nigerian politician who served as a senator from Oyo State from 2015 to 2019. She represented Oyo Central Senatorial District, having won the election held on 28 March 2015. She was the Chair of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs. 

Prior to becoming a senator, she was the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Nigeria. While in the House of Assembly, she was the member representing Oyo East and Oyo West Local Governments. She became the first female Speaker in the history of Oyo State on 10 June 2011.

Olatubosun, while celebrating the cerebral politician, equally applauded her unrelenting contribution towards the socio-political development of her hometown, Oyo.

According to a message signed by Olatubosun, “On behalf of my family and associates, I congratulate you ma on the success of seeing another year in peace. We also thank the Almighty for the blessings he has bestowed on you this past years and your contributions to the socio-political development of Oyo state”.
