OYELADE REPRESENTS OYO GOVT ON NUJ MALL PROJECT

The Oyo State government has promised to assist the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Oyo State branch in its bid for economic independence.

Governor Seyi Makinde said this during the turning of the sod for the construction of the NUJ shopping mall at the press centre, Iyaganku, Ibadan.

The governor, represented by his deputy, Barr. Bayo Lawal, also said that the commissioner for information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, will represent the state government in the interactions between the union and the private construction partners for the realization of the shopping mall.

The deputy governor advised the union to tighten any loose ends in the contract agreement with the private partner.

According to the Oyo state NUJ chairman, Comrade Demola Babalola, the project was envisioned to enable the union enhance its revenue base.

The deputy governor was accompanied to the ceremony by the commissioner for information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, the commissioner for youths and sports, Ms Wasilat Adegoke, the Chief Press Secretary and Special Adviser to the governor on media, Pastor Sulaimon Olanrewaju and the Chairperson of BCOS, Mrs Dọtun Olaitan.
